Call for Student Volunteers
Student volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the success of ICSE. They help with tasks from registration duties to local support. Being a student volunteer is an excellent opportunity to meet, interact, and network with leading academic and industrial researchers and practitioners in Software Engineering, as well as other students from all over the world who share your interest in Software Engineering. It also helps to reduce some of the costs of attending the conference.
We are looking for enthusiastic students to help make ICSE 2026 a unique experience for all attendees. This exclusive experience is available to graduate students from any country who have excellent communication skills in English, are ethical, reliable, punctual, organized, and proactive.
Responsibilities
Approximately 20 hours of in-person work during the conference week (April 12-18, 2026):

Registration duties (e.g., setting up, preparing conference kits, and helping attendees register);

Technical assistance to speakers and other attendees;

Providing directions to various locations at the conference location;

Checking badges and other ground/organizational duties at rooms and social events;

Being available for urgent tasks for a seamless conference experience.

Qualifications

Enrolled as a doctoral or master’s student in the period from January to April 2026;

Proficient in English and have good social and communication skills;

Be in Rio on April 11 for the preparation day, and be available for at least 5 days from April 12-18, 2026. You will be asked to indicate your availability on specific days in the application form.
Application Procedure and Selection Process
Each submission consists of two elements:

An online form filled out by the student: https://forms.gle/YTvpMCgDMP7tSmv97.

A letter of recommendation written and submitted by the student’s supervisor: https://forms.gle/zD4ypQ9Rw6vqv6FU9. The letter should cover the student’s organizational skills, willingness to help, proficiency in English, and anything else to help us select the student as a volunteer.
Both submission elements must be received by January 9, 2026, AoE. Submissions received after this date will not be considered. Notifications will be sent by January 30, 2026, AoE.
The Student Volunteer co-chairs will review the application elements of all applications and select students for a short online interview. The interviews will be conducted approximately around January 14-23, 2026 based on which the student volunteer co-chairs will finalize the selected volunteers.
