In addition to the core social events (Newcomer’s Reception, Welcome Reception, and Banquet,) we will also hold several networking events. These will primarily be held during the lunch periods from Wednesday to Friday.
Lunch runs from 12:30-2 every day. We anticipate any of the above events held during lunch to start at 12:45 to give people time to take a short break and obtain food from the buffet before attending the event. Food can be brought into the rooms.
Note that various meetings, BOF events, and poster sessions will also be held during lunchtime.

- Who? Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, and other gender and sexual minority (LGBTQIA+) researchers and practitioners primarily come to software engineering conferences to discuss the technical aspects of their work with the research community. However, we are also individuals whose rights and safety can be affected by the broader social and political context. At this year’s lunch, LGBTQIA+ researchers, and practitioners are invited to gather in a safe and welcoming space to build community. We will also discuss how we navigate our roles within academic, industry, and governmental institutions, and what actions can support making software engineering conferences and workshops more inclusive and welcoming environments for LGBTQIA+ members of the research community. The LGBTQIA+ @ICSE lunch will take place on Thursday, April 16, from 12:30 to 14:00 at the restaurant Paris 6 (an 8-minute walk from the conference venue). A location outside the venue was selected to support participants’ privacy and to provide a welcoming space for open conversation and community building for the LGBTQIA+ participants. We have 70 spots available, sponsored by ICSE. If you are interested in joining, please sign up using this form to confirm your participation. Spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If we receive more than 70 responses, a waiting list will be created. - This informal networking session invites you to connect with colleagues and share ideas on how professional societies—ACM, IEEE TCSE, and SIGSOFT—can continue to promote and strengthen DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives, especially in light of current challenges.

- Who? ICSE neurodivergent participants and non-neurodivergent allies.

- A session to share and explore experiences as neurodivergent researchers and in dealing with neurodivergent students. A potential outcome of this café might be a network of neurodivergent researchers that could share practices and collaborate in research on neurodiversity in SE. The café will offer a safe space. There is no judgement and we are not obliged to talk. Sharing/talking is optional!
