Keynote: Cyber operations at the speed of trust - by Colonel (Retired) Daniel Blanc
When addressing societal needs and challenges for cyber security, research voices in workshops are predominant. EnCyCriS is trying to bridge academics knowledges with both industrial and governmental needs, and has the honor to invite Colonel (Retired) Daniel Blanc, former Deputy Commander of Canadian Armed Forces Cyber Command (CAFCYBERCOM) as its keynote speaker to share experiences and needs from the sharp edge. In times of crisis situations, civilian companies become more important as e.g., service suppliers to governmental organizations and the military. As their cyber threat landscape changes considerably, they become a vulnerability themselves for societal functions and governmental services. Colonel Blanc will share some of his remarkable cyber operations experience, acquired globally with his military perspective.
The presentation will provide an insight into how we (CAFCYBERCOM) planned, deployed and conducted cyber operations in support of key Allies. The intent will be to highlight the complexity and speed of cyber operations and the criticality of taking a deliberate and incremental approach to building trust in the cyber domain.
