Social, Networking and Special RoomsICSE 2025

At 8:30 p.m. on Sat April 26th, Sun April 27th and and Mon April 28th, come to 6 York St in the Byward Market, where the Ottawa sign will be illuminated in ICSE 2025 colours. Come and have your photo taken.

We intend to have a couple of student volunteers there who can help take photos, and will also have the ICSE logo.

The Ready Room will be available throughout the week. There will be some tables with computers where people can edit presentations (bring on a USB stick) and upload presentations to the presentation rooms through the Contact 1 website. There will also be AV technicians to help if needed.

You do not need to use the Ready Room: You have several choices: You can upload your presentation from your own computer in advance of your session (days in advance even) at the Contact 1 website (you will be sent a link). Or you can plug your computer in using an HDMI cable when you are starting your presentation. This last option is available but not recommended, since it increases the chance of delays.

There will be some tables and couches in the Ready Room where you can get work done, or have small get-togethers with people.

This room will not be ‘quiet’. If you want a quiet place to work or chill out (library quiet, no talking) then Room 209 will be available much of the time.

The Ready Room will also have some poster boards.

Child Care at ICSE is free, but you must have registered for child care when you registered for the conference.

Those who are new to ICSE, join us upstairs in the Trillium Ballroom. Reception food and drinks are available. This is open to those attending the main conference for the first time, and who indicated on their registration form that they would be interested in attending.

The Quiet Room (202) is for anyone who wants to get away from noise and be by themself. Please keep this room ‘library quiet’. If you want to listen to a stream or music., please wear headphones.

Visit this room to upload or update your presentation or use a computer or talk to the AV technicians. You do not have to use the ready room as you can also upload your poster on the web

Registration will start a little earlier this morning, since is the peak day and we expect over 300 new arrivals.

If you want to attend the meditation session, you should consider coming for 7:30 so you can get your registration pack before it starts at 8:00.

If this is your first, day at the conference, and you arrive in Ottawa on Tuesday, you might want to consider coming to the registration desk Tuesday afternoon, so you do not have to line up on Wednesday morning.

The Canada Room will host a live Jazz Quartet

This is one of two areas in the National Arts Centre for the Tuesday evening (7-9) ICSE2025 reception.

The Terrrace level has several sub-rooms.

There will be a live harpist in the O’Born room, which is very beautiful.

There will be light recorded music in the Rossy room.

The Lantern room will remain quiet, for people who prefer conversations without music.

Join us for the annual ICSE Soccer Game. Teams will have been formed in advance from those who showed interest in February and March, but you can still come and watch! For info, see our Recreational Activities page.

This is for people who booked all three days of the main conference, and their guests, or people who booked extra tickets. You must bring your ticket. It will indicate your meal choice.

6:30: Guests are allowed in, but some setup may be still going on.

7:00: Start time. Recommended time to enter and find a table.

7:15: Start serving appetizer

7:45: Start serving main meal

8:25: Short speeches with thanks and awards. Award for ACM SRC, best reviewers. others.

8:45 Start serving dessert

9:00: Indigenous dance for 20 minutes while guests people finish dessert

9:30 Dancing on the dance floor!
