Bio:

Andréia is a CNPq Productivity Fellow (PQ) and a Full Professor at the University of Fortaleza (Unifor), where she has been affiliated with the Graduate Program in Applied Informatics (PPGIA) since 2002. She was a CAPES visiting researcher at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in 2017–2018, USA, and holds a PhD from Imperial College London, UK. She earned her BSc and MSc from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil.

At Unifor, she teaches Digital Games, Computer Graphics, and Computer Animation, and coordinates the Visualization and Interaction research group. She has held leadership roles in major academic events, including serving as General Chair and Program Co-Chair of the Conference on Graphics, Patterns and Images (SIBGRAPI), Program Chair of the SBC Brazilian Symposium on Games and Digital Entertainment (SBGames)—Brazil’s premier conference in digital games and entertainment research, and Co-Chair of the Graduate Workshop at the SBC Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Reality (SVR), among others.

From 2017 to 2018, she served on the Steering Committee of the SBC Special Committee on Games and Digital Entertainment (CEJOGOS) and actively participates in conference program committees for the IEEE International Conference on Serious Games and Applications for Health (SeGAH), ACM High-Performance Graphics (HPG), IFIP International Conference on Entertainment Computing (ICEC), ACM SIGGRAPH Conference on Motion, Interaction and Games (MIG), ACM International Conference on the Foundations of Software Engineering (FSE) Workshop on Foundations of Applied Software Engineering for Games (FaSE4Games), SBC Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Reality (SVR), SBC Brazilian Symposium on Games and Digital Entertainment (SBGames), and the SBC Thesis and Dissertation Competition (CTD).

In editorial roles, she served as Guest Editor for Elsevier’s Entertainment Computing (2019–2023) and Graphical Models (2022–2023), as well as Associate Editor for ACM Computers in Entertainment (2012–2018). Since 2024, she has been Senior Editor for the Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society (JBCS), responsible for the Digital Games area. From 2020 to 2024, she chaired the SBC CEJOGOS. In 2025, she is serving as Co-Chair of the IFIP International Conference on Entertainment Computing (ICEC) Workshop, and in 2026, she will Co-Chair the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) Workshop on Games and Software Engineering (GAS) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
