Every year, ACM SIGSOFT and IEEE TCSE join forces to help organize the premier conference in our field — ICSE. During the ICSE week, you get to see, present, and discuss the best ideas, results, and tools emerging from software engineering research and practice. Many people are engaged in making each ICSE and all its co-located events happen. These people are members of different committees that oversee the multiple ICSE’s different facets, covering everything from the technical programs to the conference venue, food, and even entertainment. It is important to remember that these committees are driven by all of us. The health of our community and the events it organizes—not just ICSE—is a direct by-product of our collective involvement and decision-making.
To that end, the SIGSOFT & TCSE Town Hall meeting gives all ICSE participants an opportunity to spend time together in a relatively informal setting, to hear about the services that the SIGSOFT and TCSE executive bodies offer for the benefit of the community, and to shape those services by asking questions, providing feedback, and proposing new directions, activities, and events. We need and value your input and hope to see you at the Town Hall Meeting!
