I’m a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University. Before coming to Case, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Software Research in Carnegie Mellon University, and received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Iowa State University. For my dissertation, I worked on verifying and reasoning algorithmic fairness in ML pipeline.
My research interests are broadly at the intersection of Software Engineering (SE) and AI, focusing on responsible AI engineering. With a particular focus on the SE for AI area, I improved algorithmic fairness and safety of ML-enabled software. I also built large-scale mining and program analysis techniques for ML software. Some of my recent works explored ML technical debts in open-source and their impacts on code-generative LLMs.
